ICT Technical Services Director 

We are searching for a strong leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical people.

About the role


Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead our Technology Services Department in ICT, Fuji Business Innovation Print and Digital/LED Signage Solutions departments, covering both the IT infrastructure team, Fuji Technicians, and Service Help Desk.


The planned and projected growth for the business will be driven by this division, it will be fast-paced requiring you to inspire the team to join you on this journey.


This is a highly versatile and visible role with extensive interactions across all levels of the organisation and leveraging and managing the relationships with numerous vendors and implementation partners. The role will allow you to shape our direction as a Managed Services Provider for the SA business sector across all Technologies.


Your expertise in the management of information technology, its people within those departments, combined with your ability to work with minimal guidance whilst identifying opportunities for continual improvement in processes and system, plus your ability to continually research and evaluate technology advancements to ensure that we can deliver these innovations to our clients, will ensure your success.


Our ideal candidate is a motivated, naturally innovative, customer-focused individual with a positive attitude and a demonstrated experience in managing the delivery of information technology services. We are seeking a strong leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to unite different teams to ensure we’re always exceeding customer expectations.



The key responsibilities of this role include:


  • Ensuring a high functioning lean and dynamic ICT support team with effective leadership, strategic vision, and appropriate process disciplines and controls.


  • Getting the best out of our vendors and implementation/support partners – Vendor Management of the outsourced components of the wide-area network, telephony, data centre, security systems, and other technology infrastructure as required


  • Active engagement with the business to get ICT right – Collaboration with key stakeholders across the organisation to ensure all business requirements are being exceeded.


  • Continuous improvement of the service desk – all service support desk requests are resolved in a timely manner as per the guaranteed SLA’s.
  • Carry out consistent monthly team performance reviews against KPIs.


  • Delivery of required outcomes – on time, on budget.


  • Someone who can give direction and manage staff but also doesn’t mind rolling their sleeves up and joining the Team to get the job done.



Your Skills and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (additional industry certifications will be highly regarded)


  • Minimum 5 years experience and demonstrated experience in leading an ICT / Technical Team.


  • Experience with managing Microsoft Windows Server systems, and associated technologies such as O365, Azure, SQL Server, and Active Directory


  • A strong understanding of Information Technology security principles and control measures


  • Experience delivering ICT services in a controlled environment with strong change management requirements.


  • Ability to develop, maintain, improve, and adhere to departmental procedures and processes.


  • Sound understanding and demonstrated experience in developing and achieving budgets and presenting financial reports to Executive Management.


  • Adhering to and achieving the Vision and the Process set out in the Company Strategic Plan to ensure that the company continually retains its certification for the ISO 9001/15.
